Bogong to Hotham (B2H) is a gnarly race and although it is only 64kms in length it is boasted to be one of Australia’s hardest trail races. For anyone who has ever taken part in an event organised by Andy Hewat they will know how meticulous he is to detail and safety. This race is no different, the B2H field is capped at 100 competitors with each competitor needing to fulfill the qualifying criteria of a successful completion of an ultra in the past 12 months of ‘sufficient’ difficulty/ baseline requirement is 6ft track in 6hrs).…

Hello my dear friends.

Your blog comments and emails are a true lift to my spirit!! I have completed the 100km stage and have reached the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. After i wrote my last blog (on stage four) horror and devastation hit the camp as competitors were stuck in the canyon dehydrated and in a very poor state. All of the competitors who were at camp were in a frenzy of fear as we received news that a man had curled into a corner.…

Stage 3 (Atacama Crossing)

I am writing this blog exhausted and a little worse for wear. If you look at the times for today I had a pretty good day (equal fourth or fifth female across the line) but I ended the final stage vomiting, dehydrated and a little delirious. I wasn’t able to eat my dinner last night, it is really difficult to get the dehydrated meals down and I am finding that high salt snacks are the easiest things to consume (this means salt and vinegar chips crushed up).…
