Ultra168: Editorial Board Member & Female Perspective Writer

They are four lads from Sydney whose love for all things ultra running prompted them to set up Ultra168.com in June 2011.  For the last eight months I have spent several hours reading their articles, interviewsgear review  and race reports as a procrastination from study and as an inspiration to push harder in my training sessions.  I was going to blame the lads if I failed my last law exam but luckily it never came to that! For several months I was under the misunderstanding that these guys either had cushy jobs or no jobs whatsoever. Clearly it took me a while to read their profiles but surprise surprise the guys do work and none of their jobs seem to be cushy.

They have made me question my belief that males cannot multitask as they have proven themselves to fit more into 24hours than even the busiest task master could achieve. Certainly most Sydneysider ultra runners would know of “Ultra168” and their reach is extending to the growing ultra networks throughout Australia and even overseas. To continue this reach and increase the scope of perspectives featured on the website Marcus, Andrew, Dan and Darrel established an editorial board earlier this year which I am proud to be included on. Check out their article here about the reasons behind the editorial board.

I remember when I started running a few years back and I really struggled to find quality information around gear and nutrition that was specific to a female ultra runner. When I set up my website last year I wanted it to include those specifics to cater to the growing number of females becoming involved in the sport. For that reason I am really excited that I will now be contributing to the Ultra168 website from the perspective as a female ultra runner.  Stay tuned to their website for an upcoming review on two female designed backpacks and more.
